Alberto Rosende is an American actor and singer. He portrays Simon Lewis on Freeform's Shadowhunters: The Mortal Instruments.


On May 1, 2015, it was announced that he was cast as Simon Lewis for Shadowhunters: The Mortal Instruments.[1] Alberto has since read all of The Mortal Instruments books.[2]

Alberto Rosende was born and raised in Florida to Martha Cristina Ferrucho and Alberto Carlos Rosende II. He has a younger brother named Diego. They are of Colombian and Cuban descent.[3]

In 2013, Alberto was diagnosed with cancer but was declared cancer-free the following year.[4]

Rosende studied at New York University Tisch School of the Arts and, in 2014, took two semesters of Stonestreet Studios' Acting Workshop.[5] He graduated in 2015.[6]

Alberto performed in FLCT's production of Hairspray at Broward Center in 2012.[7] He has also since been in several short films, such as The Swing of Things, and stage plays. In 2015, Alberto appeared in the fifth season of Blue Bloods, Sins of the Father, as Carlos Santiago.
