History[]
Prior to Valentine's transfer to Idris, his son Jonathan, assuming the identity of Sebastian Verlac, captured Duncan's family and forced him to hijack the Portal for Valentine's transfer. When the rest of the escort team arrived in Idris through the Portal, Duncan and Valentine were nowhere to be found, having used the Portal to go to the location designated by Jonathan. After delivering Valentine, Duncan pleaded with Jonathan to let his family go. The latter responded by saying that he cannot do that and proceeded to kill Duncan.[1]

- According to Duncan's file on the Clave's database, Duncan was originally from Camden, New Jersey and trained at the Tokyo Institute. His security clearance was Level 9, and his weapons training at Level 8. He was a kendo and karate expert. He was 30 years old at the time of his death.[2]
