Bartholomew "Bat" Velasquez is one of the newest members of the werewolf pack in New York.

Bat was one of Russell's victims in 2016—a mundane he attacked to Turn and recruit as a member of his pack. After being scratched by Russell, in the latter's wolf form, his screams were heard by Maia Roberts and Simon Lewis, both of whom then came as Russell rushed off. They took Bat to the docks, to wait and see if Bat would Turn into a werewolf under the influence of the full moon. Later that night, Maia began to see signs that Bat was Turning and tried to take measures like chaining him to a post and giving him something—that wasn't his own tongue—to bite on, as safety precautions for his first Turning, to no avail as Bat's newfound and uncontrolled strength took over and he Turned. Maia later returned after he turned back into his human form and reassured the scared and confused Bat that he wasn't alone, and Luke Garroway—the head of his newfound pack—welcomed him and other new members into the pack.[1]
Bat was present at the meeting in the Jade Wolf kitchen when Maia told them to spread the word about Valentine and Jonathan. When Russell questioned Maia's authority and Simon stood up for her and went on about Beta wolves, Russell looked at Bat, who was just as clueless as him about it.[2]
Bat was exiting the Jade Wolf with Maia and saw Russell and some other ambushing Simon. Bat was surprised to see Simon almost get hit with a bat, and more so when his attacker was thrown back by an invisible force while a mark on Simon's forehead glowed.[3]
Some time after, while eating with Maia at the Jade Wolf, Bat noticed that Maia had zoned out and seemed down. Though she did not go into details, she told him that she was thinking, and that her troubles had to do with her past before she left.[4]

Bat has big claw marks on his chest from Russell's attack.
